I'm trying to create a modal for a screen that has an event video, the idea is to put the video script in a modal, but I'm struggle to figure out how.

Why not use slide video and add CC to it? Is that not a lot easier and comfortable for the learner?

Can't, it's an event video, so we can't use CC

Without getting into detail, that's not an option.

Event video is out of control of Captivate, plays independently. I have no idea how you could synchronize this with a script, you will need  a lot of event listeners.

Doesn't need to sync, at all. The full script just needs to pop up in a modal, I just need to figure out how to do that.

Create a content master slide with a Text placeholder in the left half, leave the the right half free for the event video.

Or if it is a responsive project with Fluid Boxes, set up to Fluid boxes horizontally in a content master slide and eventually a placeholder for the text.

I would probably create a button that says "Show Script".

This button would have an action to show your SmartShape and an 'X' button.

In the SmartShape you can put the text.

I would include a small 'X' button as a way to close the script.

It would have an action to hide both the 'X' and the script.

This way the learner has a little control over whether they want the script to show or not.

As a another thought, you could hide a scrolling text window interaction (widget), place the script inside especially if it is a long script, and have a toggle button to turn it on or off using show/hide.
