I want Captivate to generate random numbers for 2 variables when the user enters a question slide. Then Captivate will plug the 2 variables in to an equation and get a number answer. I want the user to type a number in a fill-in-the-blank space. Finally, I want Captivate to accept an answer within +/-5% of the correct answer.
Is this possible to do in Captivate?

Certainly not with a Fill-in-the-Blank type of question/Knowledge check slide. You need an 'input' area which stores each variable individually. Either Text Entry Boxes or Scrolling Text interactions. I created a while ago (still SWF output) two mathematics examples. Have a look:

The part with the +/- 5% can be done with advanced or shared actions, by doing some more calculations using the Expression command. You may need some easy JS to format numbers (have another post somewhere).
My answer is positive: this is possible with Captivate, but not with FIB question slide.
