Hi everyone,

I am looking for a little guidance on setting up a Quiz Results page in Cpt 2019. Please see details below.

Scenario: New employee has taken a quiz and results need to be exported and/or sent to manager (default email account).

Issue: Quiz results can only be view one slide at a time and results cannot be exported.

Good Solution: Set up the Quiz Results page to contain a variable and/or advanced action that will export the results of quiz (similar to printing feature).

Best Solution: Set up the Quiz Results page to contain a variable and/or advanced action that will export the results of quiz and send results to email address with employee name.

Thank you,

Mark Peterson

As is the case with other eLearning authoring tools, Captivate's courses are meant to collaborate with a Learning Management System (LMS). Such a LMS takes care of managing useer accounts and activities including the Quiz or other assessment results.

The Results slide has a lot of quizzing system variables. I do not understand why you would use another variable?A variable is just a container for values it cannot trigger any command.  In a LMS it would be possible to see the user name since it is part of the user account. That user name is stored in the system variable cpQuizInfoStudentName.

A LMS like Moodle in its basic version is free. You can also use SCORM cloud for a limited number of courses and users freely.

Unless there are only a handful of learners involved, no manager in their right mind would want to receive an email everytime a learner completed a course module. In order to get a combined report from these emails the poor manager would need to cut and paste the data from each email into the fields of a spreadsheet or database.  That would be insanity.

As Lieve points out, an LMS will give the manager a combined report across all learners and enable seeing at a glance who passed and by how much.
