I have read many times the great article by Rod here http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate/reduce-load-on-your-learning-management-system.

I am not sure about the difference between the option "SendTrackingDataAtEnd" - a template that can be selected at the top of the Reporting settings and the option "Send Data On Every Slide" that is found in the LMS Advanced Settings.

What if I choose "SendTrackingDataAtEnd" as a template but also tick the option "Send Data On Every Slide". Wouldn't they be in conflict?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Bobby!

They will certainly be in conflict, as these options are provided for you to customize the project not to overload the LMS with frequent unnecessary requests.

'SendTrackingDataAtEnd' will make sure the reporting is done once project ends and hence LMS will not be asked to pull reports in-between thus the course will not buffer a lot and users will have a seamless experience. Whereas, in case of 'Send Data On Every Slide', this is overridden and reports are pulled from LMS at every slide.

So, unless you 'really' need to get the reporting at every interaction at the end of each slide, do not select 'Send Data On Every Slide'.

Figure out your requirements and enjoy using Captivate!

We discovered an issue today where if the learner scores a passing grade (which is what triggers completion) BUT chooses to restart the module (using the restart icon in the player), the completion is never reported to the LMS (CSOD), so they would have to retake the quiz and pass it a second time to be marked complete.

Can anyone shed light on why this might be happening?

You first have to find out if the problem is due to Captivate setup or yout LMS. Please check it out by trying the course on SCORM CLoud.
