Hello

I am using adobe captivate 9 and need to split a simulation slide so I can delete the part that I don’t want. If there is no such feature in Adobe Captivate 9, is there a version that has it?

Is this simulation slide a static slide or a FMR slide. FMR stands for Full Motion Recording. You'll recognize a FMR slide because it has a blue line in the center of the slide timeline, and there is an indicator (videocamera) in the Filmstrip.

Nothing has changed in the Software Sim workflow in CP2017/2019.

Some slides are static others are FMR. The slide that I am trying to split seams to be static. How can I make all my slides FMR?

What a weird request? I try to avoid FMR slides whenever possible because there is almost no editing possibility and they don't show well in HTML output. I always repalce them with cpvc slides.  I presume it is a Software simulation in Demo mode, not interactive?

Can you insert a screenshot of the timeline of a static slide, and tell me what you want to change? It may be easier to explain on such an example, believe you are very new to Captivate?

For a FMR slide look in the Properties panel, you can trim.

It's a software simulation that is interactive, its a simulation. I had assumed that FMR you can edit slides.split.png

I see only part of the timeline, but since there is only the slide timeline, this cannot be an Simulation in training mode at all, since there is no interactive object timeline. Each static slide in a training simulation has one interactive object (timeline is green for such an object): either a click box or a Text Entry Box. If you want to shorten this slide, since nothing is happening, change it in the Timeline properties or drag the end of the timeline to the left until you have the wanted duration. Much easier tthan with a FMR slide.

That particular slide has no interaction objects but others have.  I have deleted some slides also because they had a period of narration that nothing was happening.  You right that particular slide I can decrease the duration.

If tthis slide has been created while capturing a software simulation, something went wrong. The only reason why it would be that long, could have been a long narration but there is no audio clip to be seen at all.

Personally I never record audio at the same time as the slides, it is much easier to focus on the correct recording of the visual part, and to add audio clips later on.

When I was recording I selected demo and simulation and the same audio goes to both demo and simulation. I didn't need the audio on the simulation so I deleted. I am doing a project with a school, we are using one of the lectures to narrate. I don't want to show what software I am using so I only capture audio with another software on the school and then play it back on my computer and record the video and simulation.
