Hi everyone,
I've seen a couple posts about how to 'trick' the program into opening in full screen, but my client is having the opposite problem. When I open the Mac-safe .exe (.app), the project opens to a little over half of the screen and I can expand or contract it however I wish. However, when my client opens the .exe version on her PC, she says it opens full-screen every time and she loses access to anything else on her computer until she exits the program. Any ideas on what this could be or how I could fix it?
Captivate when publishing for mac does not have the full screen setting, therefore does not open in full screen.
In the publish settings for windows did you have the full screen setting selected when you published from from Captivate - check that

Hahahha wow, I've become so accustomed to expecting Captivate to be difficult that I'm not even embarrassed about this easy fix I had spent so much time combing through the pre-export options and didn't check the actual export options...Thanks!

Captivate is not difficult, at least that is my idea. It becomes a problem when users start with Captivate without any basic training.

To each their own! I'm a professional designer who is comfortable with dozens of programs. I've found Captivate to be one of the most glitchy and least intuitive programs I've learned (and I did start with a basic training module).

OK, have been teaching at least 30 applications in my professional career. Captivate is certainly ot the most difficult. However moet training programmes for Captivate are not what I would expect, because they do not focus on the most imporant. Just my personal opinoin.

Lieve you know how I feel about this - half the time the folks on this forum struggle with the basics which tells me that they have had no formal training on Captivate. Most users think that a few U tube videos and they are good to go. Then on top of that Adobe throws out the term Adobe Captivate Specialist with a one day training program and that really gets me fuming - I like others have been a devoted educator of Adobe Products including Captivate for 13 years now and simply shake my head.

Sure David! You also know what I think about YouTube videos. But I am very frustrated, due to recent personalised trainings for trainees all over the world, by the bad level of training programmes for Captivate in many locations. That is bad for Captivate, because since they only provide some 'talked' step by step tutorials like in YouTube, instead of explaining the real stumbling blocks which every Captivate user has to climb, this results in complaints like here: Captivate is not intuitive, it is very difficult, the learning curve is too steep etc.
I proved multiple times that a good training can solve in about 10 hours of personalized training what has been broken and misleading for Captivate users which have taken many training programmes, read many (mostly bad) books. Sometimes even after 1 session of about 2 hrs, I hear exclamations like 'I now can save at least 30% of time by following your workflow'.
Adobe doesn't care about what third party trainers are doing, that was already the case with the MCQ assessment for ACE, which was - in my mind - totally useless. It only proved that you could memorize the Help, including the bugs, but you never had to prove any good practice, nor that you could develop a project in Captivate! It is not typical for Adobe, because MS is the same or even worse.

I am using Captivate 2019 (v11.0.1) on a 64-bit Windows workstation, and have gone through the File ... Publish Settings...and do not see a full screen setting. Would you provide the path to this setting?
Thank you.

Hey there,
I also want to stop Captivate project from opening infull screen. It's a non-responsive project.
In the screenshot you see my actual publishing settings. But I can't find out where to uncheck/disable full screen.
Grateful for any advice!
