Hi All,

I have recently been working on a Captivate project with an outside vendor. I got the final source files today. Overall, it looks great, but occasionally when I go to start a demo/sim, I get a screen that says "This Project Has Expired". I checked the Preference for Start and End, and the expiration box/settings weren't configured. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Perhaps try enabling the box, publishing, clearing it again and publishing again?

Thanks for the suggestion, but no. That didn't work. The only other thing I could think happened is that the company I worked with used a trial version of Captivate 8, and that might have something to do with it, but I still wouldn't be sure how to remedy it.

Hmmm, I suppose that's possible.

Have you tried creating a new blank project using the same dimensions, then copying all the slides from the troublesome project to the new one?

Maybe that will help?

Cheers... Rick

This is a very old thread.  Expiration only happens for projects created with a trial version.

As Lieve said, projects created with a Trial version of Captivate will expire after 30 days.

However, there is also the option in the Edit > Preferences > Project > Start and End settings to configure a defined expiry date.  So, if it wasn't due to the Trial version limitation, then perhaps the previous author chose that option.
