Video and Audio Sync for HTML5 on different browsers (Safari the issue)

Hi there,

We are having some pretty significant issues with audio falling out of sync with animations  on our HTML5 captivate projects in Safari.

What is frustrating is the audio and and animations align beautifully in Chrome,  however in Safari (on computer) we are having issues - on some slides, the slide starts before the audio is loaded, which then means the animation/slide moves on out of sync with the audio and transitions before that audio file is complete. The lag in audio starting seems unpredictable and dependent on internet speed (particularly the first slide in a project, but other slides to a lesser extent also).

Is this a known Safari issue?

Does anyone know how avoid this problem so that Captivate projects are robust and slides play only when animations and the audio are ready? Could it be:

1) audio bitrate (ours is on the default 96 kpbs)?

2) needing a lag without audio at the beginning of a slide?

3) having one audio file per slide stitched together, rather than separate audio files aligned to different objects?

4) some other compression / audio setting?

Any advice on this is very much appreciated.

NB: followed Rob Ward's advice from a few years ago and inserted blank slides at the start of projects. This helps with the timing issues in Safari on slide 1 of a project, but that is all.
