Dave is a great teacher with those videos.
The suggestion is to use the Blank Template Character which I agree with but it can be confusing as to whether its a teaching tool or a Template. The Layers are colored in a inconsistant way and the abscence of + on the layers makes rigging a bit confusing if you arent following along with the tutorial. (Illustrator version)
The bug though is that "Edit Original Artwork" with Blank puppet in Illustrator didnt carry over after saving Blank Puppet in AI 2020 format locally (Desktop) and to the the CC cloud. The link seemed to disconnect.
I simply changed the shoes to Red . Windows 10 platform.
After Edit Original, make your changes in PS or AI, and hit Save. If you do Save As to a different location or format, Ch won’t know, so it won’t pick up the changes.
If you have already done this, you can repoint the Ch project to the new location by selecting the puppet in the project panel, and then clicking on the blue (or orange if it’s missing) file path in the properties panel and choose the new file location.

...I always overlooked the blue file path in the properties panel! Great! :)))
Thought:
Whouldn't it be a cool thing to have the option to choose the file path in the contex-menue in the project-Panel, as well?
That would make it also more constent to AE ("replace footage"in contex-menue in the project-Panel). There I whoud search for it in the first place.

Thank you . Yes I saved it as a Cloud Document (AIC) file. I am new to the Adobe Cloud Platform so navigating their Cloud Libraries Documents and File Sync is new to me. Will Ch work with AIC files ? I started with Adobe Pagemaker and moved away when Adobe started to go to the cloud . I have struggled a bit understanding the whole Gathered Media folder creation . Are there docs for how this works? I couldn't find any. I keep auditioning Puppets PSD files and AI ..clearing the History...deleting the assets ...then going back and deleting the Default Ch project to start over. I understand that perhaps I am too new to Ch to help BETA new product but I have every intention of trying out the NEW features and stick to the Forum Issues at hand. I do like the ability to drag new puppets in scenes with the mouse as it took me longer than I care to admit on how to use Transform X axis in the beginning.lol. You guys are doing a great job and I have been raving about your product. I spent weeks with Flash way back in the day and eventually gave up. Being in Tech I've burnt out handfuls of time but thanks to your product I am once again excited, renewed, and having fun. 🙂

Sorry, no direct support of cloud documents right now. You need to have them on your local hard drive to import them ito Ch.
When you import artwork (AI/PSD/MP3 etc., but not .puppet files), it is referenced at its location on disk.
The Gathered Media folder in your project folder holds source artwork files that have either been copied from .puppet files (when importing the .puppet file, which is never referenced by the project), or moved from their original referenced location by invoking File > Copy Media Files into Project Folder. After you do that command, you can close the project and then zip up the entire project folder (the one that contains the .chproj file) knowing that it is self-contained.
