Limb IK - legs stop working when imported to Premiere or AE

Community Beginner ,

First off, I'm new to Character Animator, but I'm pretty technically adept. I love the idea of Limb IK, which is why I started with this Beta version; I want to make my characters dance, and this seems like it'd be the easiest way to accomplish it.

When I record the action in Character Animator, everything seems OK. I save it, review it, and it's fine. Then I go to import the project into Premiere or After Effects and everything goes haywire (I've tried dragging the project file for Dynamic Link and using file > import). The leg movements are gone, not only in P/AE, but in the original Character Animator project, too. The character still bounces around a bit like I had intended, but the legs are stiff.

Videos are attached:

1) Shows recorded action in Character Animator

2) Dragging scene from CA to Premiere (new project) and legs stop working.

3) Error received in CA - error 3.5x19.

Any advice?

Ugh. Just realized I was correct - error is because P/AE are not Beta. I'll delete this thread if I'm able.

Side question - in order for the Character Animator Beta to work properly, do I need to also be using the Beta version of Premiere and/or After Effects?

Thank you for trying out Limb IK, the dance animation looks fabulous!

As for your issue, yes, the solution you found is correct. For the Dynamic Link from beta apps to work, other apps on the receiving end also need to be beta versions. We hope we can clarify this in the future. This is a common issue that many people stumbled on and I believe this thread will be valuable to keep around for other users with similar issues. We appreciate your feedback!

Thanks for the kind words. That first animation was just placeholder since I kept losing the sequences. I'm really excited about the Limb IK; that first placeholder only took a few minutes to "perform." I need to do practice my footwork, but here's what I was able to create pretty quickly:  https://www.tiktok.com/@teddyturple/video/6882522397879127301?lang=en

Looking forward to having more fun with this software!
