CA Crashed and now I can't start a new project

I had a project open in Character Animator while I was working on 2 puppet files in Illustrator.  This crashed Character Animator.  I couldn't reopen the project so I deleted the project file to start again.  Now I can't create a new project without receiving the above message (which means I can't creat a new project).  I've tried reinstalling Characte

CH is trying to load the old project, which is problematic for all sorts of reasons. To bypass that, hold down the 'ctrl' key when starting to get a fresh start. Let us know if that works.

Thanks for the advice.  Turns out I just needed to delete the changes I was making to the puppet while Character Animator crashed.
