Cannot export entire scene

Why am I being restricted to exporting only a small portion of the scene I am creating using Character Animator?

When I export the scene, I'm getting a video that only shows that small area highlighted in the center of my screenshot.

Make sure your scene dimensions (the brighter rectangular area you see) matches the dimensions you want. Select the scene in the Project panel, then adjust the Width and Height values in the Properties panel on the right. The export uses the scene dimensions.

The dimensions are exactly what I want. Does that mean my artwork (character and background) need to be reduced in size?

Thank you for your clues, Jeff! I reduced the background size and character size and heading in the right direction ...

You can also try scaling the puppet down in Character Animator -- select the puppet in the Project panel, then under the Transform behavior (in the Properties panel), adjust the Scale value.
