Hi! I think that this could help someone. In the first time I used Character Animator, after a minor change (just the color of the nose) in a puppet in Illustrator, the Ch had some problems in reproducing the puppet. I closed the program and couldn't reopen it. I tried a lot of times. Restartet the computer several times, there was an open project that crashed and the program didn't openned anymore. There was the messages, "open a project in more than one computer at the same time could cause..." and the program didn't responded. SOLVED: I was using a Logitech Camera 910. When I removed this hardware, immediately the program runned normally. God bless you.
