I want to create an animation where my character walks on to the scene then turn to faces the front in a front on view do I need to make two different animations in different files one of him walking on then another him facing the fron then but them to getter if so how do I make them line up so it turns in the right place. Also do I need to make 2 different character views (front facing postion then side facing postion) so one can be riged to walk.

If you look at the vidoes/user guide on the Walk behavior, it supports a character standing still (facing forwards is normal) and side profiles (when walking). You can do this all in one puppet. It is more work, but then the character will walk and stop facing forwards easily. You have to draw side profiles of all the artwork - no magic there sorry! But it will walk and stop all in the one character.
