Character Animator Running Slow--Spinning

Hi everyone! When I try to rig a character (design is a PSD file), it loads for everything I click on, so it takes a few seconds to do anything... is there any way to fix this? I am running a new(ish) mac and have about 30 GB left, but it does not have the newest update. Thanks!

There are several possible solutions.
1) Raise machine specs.
2) Make PSD light and simple.
3) Make an AI file with a relatively light capacity.
