Compute Lip Sync with two mouth sets

Hello! I am fairly new to Character animator, (discovered it about 2 weeks ago) I've made a working model with multiple mouth sets; a regular and sad mouth. I have created a swap set for both of them and use a keybind to trigger each of the mouth sets. 

I have a specific sound booth to make my recordings in, meaning that I use the compute lip sync from scene audio option when creating lip-sync. This has created a bit of a problem for me, however - I cannot make two different vismes for each swap set. I'm stuck on either one of the mouths whenever trying to compute lip sync. I've tried to make multiple tracks of computing the lip sync, one track with the default mouth and one with the alternate mouth, but in the end, it just results in both of the vismes tracks being whatever mouth is set to default at the time. Is there a way for me to compute lip sync on both mouth sets?

This should be happening automatically if you have both the mouths tagged as "MOUTH" - there should be no need to do anything else.

There's a video by Dave on how to do this, but I forgot what it's called so here's my setup:

So in the above image CHOPS contains the different mouths. CHOPS has NO tags.

MOUTH and FROWN contain all the normal parts of a mouth. They each have their own MOUTH tag.

GRIT is just a facial expression with no tags.

If you have your puppet set up like this then it should be working automatically and you the audio data should be computing for both sets of mouths.

Just to expand slightly, it is important to understand "tags" is how Ch find layers. If a layer does not have the "mouth" tag on it, it won't realize it's a mouth to control. Ch auto-tags layers for you based on the layer name. So a layer called "mouth" will be auto tagged with that "mouth" tag. It is the tag that matters to behaviors, not the layer name. So "FROWN" above you have to add the tag yourself. 

 

Tags are visible in the properties panel.

 

What you can do however is call the mouth layers under CHOPS "Normal Mouth" and "Frown Mouth". If there is a space separating them, Ch will auto tag the frown layer for you too. Eg "SadMouth" would not be tagged as no space.  I personally like using the auto tagging so i don't have to remember to add the tags back later if i make a big change. It also remembers me the purpose of the layers if i come back months later.

 

So follow this prev post, but i suggest renaming 'frown' to 'frown mouth' then it will be autotagged.
