Dropping audio on timeline at playhead?

I'm looking through documentation and googling as well but want to ask here just in case I don't find anything. Whenever I add audio, it lands at the beginning of the timeline.

Is it possible to drop audio where I have the playhead/scrubber? It is SUCH a pain in the butt to move every single piece of audio because I have to find the last piece of audio (for another character) again -- which isn't easy because every piece of audio is a new layer -- yuck! -- listen to it and find the correct timing again. Actually, it's three times I have to place it:

  1. To drop it on the timeline.
  2. Drag it to approximately where it should be after the preceding audio
  3. After listening to that preceding audio, dragging it exactly where it should go
