hi
does anyone know why I cant edit the character of character animator in Photoshop or Illustrator? The programs just don't open up when I select "edit orginal"
That is odd. I assume that you installed all of the programs using Creative Cloud and they're all up to date?
I don't remember for sure, but I think we've seen issues with the Photoshop or Illustrator associations being broken by uninstalling older versions after having installed newer ones.
In any case, assuming the files indeed do not open as expected from Finder/Explorer either, I think if you re-establish that association, it should also work when "Edit in Original" is invoked from Character Animator.

Character Animator just asks the OS to launch the program that is associated with the applicable file extension (PSD, AI, etc) so usually failures of this sort mean that something has caused the program to become disassociated. One thing you can try is to use the right click menu on the puppet and choose Reveal in Finder (or Explorer) and open it from there. If it does open the right program when you double click the file in Finder/Explorer, that would be more puzzling.
