Exported video to AME never renders, dynamic link to AE shows up black

I have created an animation in CA but when I try export it to AME or do dynamic link to AE I get nothing. In AME it looks like it is rendering but for a 55 second scene I cannot believe it would render for over 7hrs (tried it with regular and beta versions of CA and AME). I have had this issue since yesterday, and have since updated to latest versions of all components just today, still I get no joy.  Having not seen this exact problem in the forums I am thinking I might have missed a step or something but at this point honestly, I am at a loss as to what it could be.  No errors are thrown when I perform the actions (export and import of chproj file) there is just nothing showing up.

I am running this on an iMac with 3.4GHZ Quat Core I7 processor with 32gb Memory.

I have also just updated again to the latest and greatest of both the regular and Beta versions just today and I still get nothing!

Well of course after I posted this, I went back to look at AE and it did show up there so I will attribute that to my impatience. I was also able to export the .mov file from AE to AME with no issues!  At the same time though my exports from CA straight to AME are still hanging (or at least processing for hours).

Thanks,
