Hello CH pros! I've been working on my first puppet and I've been stumped as to how to get the eyes to work. I think I have problems with my layer structure. Right now her right eyeball tracks correctly (more or less) but her left eye is just dead.
I've tried re-working this and re-doing the structure based on different videos, but at this point I'm just more confused than before. I haven't made much progress in three days so I thought it was time to bring it to the friendly folks at the internet to see if someone can help!
Here's a link to my Maddie Puppet

I tried to download your puppet but could not.
Please change your administrator rights to a setting that allows people who know the link to download it.
Thanks.

Hello. I have downloaded your puppet.
I think that the reason why the puppet's eyes are sometimes greatly misaligned is because of the complicated layer structure.
I tried to adjust it in various ways but could not adjust it well because the layer structure is too complicated. I think you should start with a simple pattern of closing the eyes.
Once you get used to that, I would suggest using a swap set that changes the size of the eyelids.
Thanks.

Good advice....I'll stick with simple swap sets until I get a better understanding of the layer structure. Thank you!

I found a site that explains in simple terms the basic rules and structure for eye-rigging.
Basically my layer structure was all wrong; I had eyes at two different places in the heirarchy and it was breaking things. I just went through simplifying all my layers and put them in the order displayed via the link and got it reassembled again--working this time!
