Hidden layers showing over other layers?

I'm really not sure what's happening apart from it looks like an anti-clipping mask, I was wondering if you had any idea what in doing wrong or how to avoid a glitch?

I assume you are talking about the top of the shirt? Or the eyes? Or the hair? (Or all of these?)

My guess is the artwork file is using a feature Character Animator does not support. E.g. it does not support all the effects in Illustrator. Sometimes turning into a “smart object” can help. Or render to a bitmap image and use that as the puppet artwork (which makes it a pain to edit further later).
