How do I get rid of puppets

I am having a problem with a puppet I thought I was opening in it's own project but it opened in what I had been working on. Also, what I had been working on now has six copies of the same puppet because... I don't know. How do I rid myself of unwanted copies?

Not sure how to help with the first part (because I don’t understand the problem vs what you want to have happen sorry).

To delete a puppet, single click on it and hit the DELETE button. (You might be able to right click as well.)

I failed to mention that the deletion must take place in the project panel.

In the project panel click on the puppet and hit the DELETE key...  Sorry, could not resist!

How do I make copies of a puppet?

I have a great puppet that I made that I want to use as a template.

However every time I change something in the new puppet the old puppet is updated or vice versa it’s a nightmare.

How can I simply create a new project import my template puppet change it and save it in a completely different folder so that these puppets new and old don’t keep getting confused.

And so I could keep updating the different Photoshop files without destroying the old and new versions?

I’m completely confused about the whole gathered media folders where the puppets should be stored with the Photoshop file and how to copy and move these so that everything doesn’t get mixed up. I need a workflow please help.

If you “Edit/Duplicate” it creates a copy of the puppet, but cannot remember about the artwork - you could check the ”Path” property which shows the filename.

But the safest way is to Export Puppet (from the menu) then Import Puppet into same or different project. The Export makes a copy of the artwork in the *.puppet file (a ZIP file) that it creates during the export. So you get a local copy of the artwork when you import that puppet file into a project.
