open a puppet file in illustrator

is there a way to edit a puppet i d/l in illustrator? (also my cmd e doesn't seem to work even if i don't really know how to use Photoshop)

Yes. If you have the puppet open in Character Animator, select it in the project panel and go to Edit > Edit Original to open the AI. But the Ctrl/Cmd + E thing should work too.

A basic knowledge of Photoshop or Illustrator is required for editing or making puppets, so you might want to brush up on some tutorials for those before digging in or it might be even more confusing.
