Character Animator automatically saves the current project. You should be able to see it when you open the program again or if not, use File>Open Recent to get it again. When you import a puppet created in Photoshop or Illustrator, it is automatically linked to that project and any changes made to the original file are updated the next time you access Character Animator. If that is not the situation you're dealing with, let us know.
