Hi - in the new version of CH there appears no way of tagging the left and right pupil range. I have a character where the pupil range has appeared on one eye, but not on the other – consequentll the eyes move to different ranges – any help or advice?

You can tag left and right pupil ranges by doing the following:

In the Rig panel, select the layer you want to use for the range.

Then in the Properties sidebar find the Tags section and set it to Text mode (the "A" button next to the smiley).  You will find the tags there for Left Pupil Range / Right Pupil Range.
