Puppet Maker - Seafolk always arrives with a background

When I go into Puppet Maker and create a custom seafolk puppet (row 5, second from left), and select "No background," I see the checkerboard background that indicates transparency behind the puppet.

However, when I generate the puppet for a project, he arrives 100% of the time with the dock background.

I have generated other puppets with transparent backgrounds, and they work fine.

Is there something I am not doing correctly, or is this a bug?

Thanks!

I tried it myself and you're right. Even with no background selected, the background is getting generated. A quick fix for this is to right-click the puppet in the Project menu and choose "Edit Original" to open the puppet in PS. From there, you can delete the "Background" folder and your puppet will appear without the default backgrounds.

Thte same exact thing happened with The Professional.

I followed your instructions, and the puppet updated in CA with no background!

I never would have come up with that solution.

Thank you!

Okay, I just discovered that the background is a trigger controlled by keys. So, you can generate the puppet, and when the puppet arrives in the scene, just go into the Triggers panel and select the background you want (or no background).

Yep, you got it. We didn't want the user to lose all of the backgrounds in their exported puppet, but I do agree that it's quite confusing to select "No Background", then get a background once you get the character.
