"a NULL interface pointer has been dereferenced"

Everytime I open Character Animator I get this message "a NULL interface pointer has been dereferenced" and I can't do anything, I can't even close the app. Can anyone help please?

Not sure if this is the same in your case. I have noticed, that changing a puppets source externally (Illustrator/Photoshop) may lead to this problem, if a physics handle like dangle or a dragger for example, happens to be outside of the puppet grid because of the change. Can you still enter rig mode and check your puppet for out-of-boundary handles?
