"not the right kind of document" error

Been trying to open a PSD but I get this error. I tried to "open as" other document, but I got nothing, adn then tried the DNG coverter, but same error. Any fixes?

From Character Animator:

Choose File > Import (Command/Ctrl+I). Select one or more . ai or . psd files, then click Open.

i actually got it! took me hours to figure out and it was a simple fix. had to find a missing drive and updated it. it was something to do with a graphic reading drive. software update *headsmack*

CH doesn't like working with the cloud in even the best situations. It's best to use a physical or local drive whenever possible.
