Webcam for Adobe Character

Looking for a solution as to why CA can't find my webcam? It appears to be quite a common issue and I've got to say a very frustrating one. All the YT tutorials show the webcam working, and without that happening the program is pretty pointless. I have the very latest version and am using the Elgato option which uses my phone. It works in W11 camera app. My monitor is a Samsung M8 with a webcam, but CA won't recognise that either, and why I'm trying Elgato as I don't like the idea of going out and buying another webcam, and that might not work either? Is there a webcam that is guaranteed to work by Adobe?...Why are things so hard!!

The camera becomes a problem for some users and there's no clear answer for it. A search on this forum brings up many responses, including software (Elgato, Manycam) and hardware (see here: Webcam and Character Animator - Adobe Community - 11452605). I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but even my webcam will inexplicably stop working from time to time and only a reboot will set it right. It hasn't done that recently and I assume the problem has been addressed, but nevertheless, technical issues are not among my strengths.

Cheers for the reply. The frustration basically sums up Adobe and their software! They're off with the pixies inventing AI stuff, and leaving the basic errors behind, with no one interested in picking up the pieces?
