I have the problem, that I can´t initialize the face triggers (swap set) from normal friendly mouth to sad set. I tried it like it shown in the tutorial of adobe. But the own character neither the downloaded character of adobe is working like it has to. At my own character the mouth disappears complete or it can´t speak any more and shows only one mouth picture. What goes wrong?

Including a screenshot of your rigging (puppet hierarchy) can help a lot here.

What I normally do is create a layer for the swapset under which I put the normal Mouth with all the mouth positions under it (set as the default for the swap set). All the other mouth positions I make siblings of that (including sometimes full Mouth with multiple layers - e.g. draw happy mouth talking and sad mouth talking positions).

- Gob Swap Set. (I avoid the word “Mouth” to avoid accidental tagging)

- - Mouth (and make it default for swap set)

- - - Neutral

- - - Smile

- - - Ah

- - - (etc)

- - Grin

- - Scowl

- - Happy Mouth

- - - Neutral

- - - Smile

- - - Ah

- - - (etc)

I don’t put anything else in the swapset layer. So one of Mouth, Grin, Scowl, or Happy Mouth is displayed using swapset triggers.

Hi Alan,

I found out how I could solve the problem. See attached positions.

I marked these positions and clicked on the mouth on the right side.

And then it worked with the swap set. This way is nowhere decribed.

Yesterday I phoned up the support. They told me, that the newest version of

Character Animator is a Beta version. So it is possible that it has some

bugs. I work now with an older version 2.0.

Many thanks for your help. For me the program is new and I´ll have more

questions for sure.

Greetings Nina
