A little advice

Hi everyone,

I'm after a little advice on ColdFusion based email campaign/newsletter applications.

Does anyone know of any opensource/free applications which could do this for me, I don't mind if it's standalone or part of a cms.

I could go down the route of building one from scratch but I'm setting it up as a favour for someone and as usual they need it yesterday.

Any suggestions would be great.

I'll even stretch to using php if I have to (I know, sacrilege mentioning php in a CF forum )

Hi, Richard,

The only one I knew of was called CF Email Campaign. Sadly, it had to be pulled offline for, I believe, being too similar to a commercial product. Since that went offline, I have not heard of any other open source/freeware programs of this sort (a renewed Google search this morning turned up empty as well). I would certainly be interested if anyone knew of one.

Thanks for your reply Craig. Yeah I had a mess around with CF Email Campaign a few months ago but I was having problems with errors and various pages not working properly. So I basically side-lined at the time as I had other things to work on.

Now I actually need an application like it I can't find the source files I downloaded the first time and there doesnt seem to be alternatives out there.

There is however a cms called mura (recently changed from sava) which does have an email marketing side to it so I might give that a go.

There seems to be a few php based cms that have addons/plugins which all offer a similar thing to mura but I'm having great difficulty finding anything standalone and after posting on php boards and getting no reply I'm starting to think there isn't anything out there.
