Hi,
We want to explore the option of running Adobe Coldfusion in AWS on a EC2 instance.
Currently we run CF on RHEL 6/7 on premise. Is there any information/documentation regarding AWS and CF?
I would it appreciate if any other community members can share there experience?
Thank you.

It runs very well on EC2 instances in general, just like on premise. You can run all kinds of Linux distros in EC2 pretty much. The Amazon-specific distros, Amazon Linux and Amazon Linux 2, are based off of CentOS and RHEL 7. I don't know of any AWS-specific CF documentation, but there isn't much you specifically need to know about running CF in EC2. Where it gets interesting is when you use your CF instances with other parts of AWS, like ELB, auto scaling, storage options like S3 and Elastic File Storage, and so on.

Hi Dave,
Another questions about cost of AWS instance vs On Premise instance.
Do you have any statistics regarding on what platform it is cheaper on?
Thanks.

That's impossible to answer without a lot more information about what your needs and usage are, and what your costs for on-premise operation are.
