can ms sql MDF file's contain virus's?

If so how can you check/clean before putting it on your server?

MDF files can contain viruses. You can install an antivirus program and configure it to scan incoming files, for example, in the directory containing the MDF file. However, be aware that antivirus software can affect SQL Server's performance.
