CF 8.01, Websphere 6.0, and Linux Redhat?

New Here ,
Sep 09, 2008 Sep 09, 2008
The company that I am working for has a prospective client that wants to run CF 8.01, IBM Websphere 6.0, on Linux Redhat, does anyone know if this will work? Would we need to go to a previous version of ColdFusion? The ColdFusion code has to be run on Linux Redhat and preferably IBM Websphere 6.0 but they do have plans on going to Websphere 7.0 but not 6.1.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Aaron Wolfe

I would theorize that the J2EE version of CF8 or CF7 should work in your
plan. I've seen Websphere mentioned as an example in the documentation.
But I can't say I have any direct knowledge of the ins and outs of
this configuration.

Not sure if that helps much.

As Ian suggests, you will need the J2EE version of CF (v7 or v8). And that means an enterprise copy (which, should be small beans compared to the cost of WAS).

CF is supported on WAS so you should be golden in the support department should you need help.

6.1 is much much nicer than 6.0. Buf if you've already got 6.0 deployed then you can throw CF on top and go to town. No telling how long it will take Adobe to certify WAS 7 when it gets to market.

The Enterprise CF edition isn't a problem because we are including that in the quote for the customer.
Does anybody know what it would take or cost for Adobe to get Websphere 6.0 officially supported.
