CF10 - coldfusion.server.ServiceFactory$ServiceNotAvailableException: The Metrics service is not available.

I have seen this topic addressed for previous versions, but not CF 10.

we are running cf 10 on win2k8r2 iis 7.5.

recently we have experienced two things: 1 our application server will just go offline about every 2-3 hours, less if being used heavily.  2. we cannot access CF administrator.  It wont except user name/password all come back as invalid.  When the server is up and running everything works fine.

is the a file that can be edited to turn off  metrics and cstat?   I saw the solution for editing jrun.xml,  but... CF 10 isn't using jrun

Do you have the Server Monitor turned on (assuming you are running ColdFusion Enterprise)?  If so, try turning it off.  Some of the monitoring tasks can put excessive load on the server and result in crashes.

Hi ,

Do you mean \ColdFusion10\cfusion\lib\neo-metric.xml ? It's syntax has cfmetics and cfstat.

Suggest take a copy of xml by way of backup then edit.

Not a fan of either metrics or cfstat on CF10 to monitor performance myself. All the best with that.

HTH, Carl.

Wonder will passwordreset (CF10\cfusion\bin) help to get your CFadmin login ok?

Sounds like there is a lot more not working than just the metrics problem with the 2 or 3 hour up-time. Perhaps it would be good to know if you have made adjustments to CF by way of CF updaters and corresponding tomcat connector increments as well as Java and tomcat tune settings to cope for the type of workload been put thru?

HTH again, Carl M.
