I would like to turn off CF8 auto start on boot up and manually be able to start and stop the server...

I googled "cf8 osx don't autostart", and turned up this:

Does that make sense? It's all a bit Greek to me because I've not used a
Mac for...

crikey....

If you are using Windows, to manually stop anything, launch the Task Manager. To stop the autostart and enable manual starting, launch Windows Explorer and navigate to the Startup folder. Cut the Cold Fusion shortcut and paste it somewhere else in your Start Menu folder.
