Hi

Wondering if anyone can help. We have had a few issues where our intranet site stops responding and it appears to be a problem with the cfdotnetsvc as if we restart that the site comes back up.

I have set our RMM software to monitor the status of this service but I wanted to monitor the windows events for this service. Cant seem to find any event id's, event codes anywhere

Does anyone have a list of these?

To start with, I have 3 questions. Firstly, what version of Windows is ColdFusion running on? Secondly, what is the ColdFusion build number? (To get it, open the ColdFusion Administrator and click on the (i) button in the top right-hand corner. Read off the "Version", which stands for the build number. )

Thirdly, could you let us know why you think the problem is with cfdotnetsvc. Share every detail you can.

Cfdotnetsvc is the start-up launcher of ColdFusion's .NET service. You can see this on Windows by doing Ctrl-Alt-Delete, clicking on Task Manager, then on Services. Right-click on the ColdFusion .NET Service, and select Go To Details.

In any case, I have a suggestion on finding Windows event IDs and event codes relating to cfdotnetsvc. Here goes:

  1.  Click on (Windows)  Start, and type Control Panel.
  2.  Open Control Panel, then Administrative Tools.
  3.  Double-click to open Event Viewer.
  4.  Open the Windows Logs tab.
  5.  Right-click on System and select Find....
  6.  Type cfdotnetsvc in the search field and press the Find Next button. Windows should then show you event IDs and event codes relating to cfdotnetsvc, if there were any.
