cgi.auth_user/ cgi.remote_user

I need to capture the current logged user id using either cgi.auth_user or remote_user. currently when i dump the cgi vars both are blank.

I have read tons of posts on this regarding IIS /IE.  However; we are running weblogic server, w/ora 10g  migrating to 11g.

does any one know what security settings I should be looking and proper values to make this work?
