I am a 10 yr user of CF and currently use CFMX7.

I need to create charts graphs and reports for a client.

Should I learn to use CFMX7 for graphing, charting..

OR

Is there a leading 3rd party software that would be better.

You can use the <cfchart> tag.

Be sure to take a look at using the WebCharts software to utilize XML to enhance the look of your CFCHARTS. You should have this under your CFusionMX/charting directory.

I've used coldfusion for creating charts/graphs and for basic stuff I'd have to say it's very good. There are only so many settings you can tweak though so if you wanted to do something out of the ordinary you might want to look elsewhere.
