ColdFusion 2021 Update 5 manual offline installation

New Here ,
Oct 24, 2022 Oct 24, 2022

I have just sucessfully updated my ColdFusion 2021 installation from Update 4 to Update 5 manually in offline mode. However I note that there is post installation step which states:

After applying this update, you must reinstall any custom hotfixes that might have been applied earlier. The hotfixes are located in the folder /ColdFusion2021/cfusion/hf-updates/hf-2021-00005-330109/backup/lib/updates.

In the folder referenced above for my installation there is a single jar file 'chf20210004.jar'. So I guess that that this should be copied to <CF-ROOT>/cfusion/lib/updates and the server restarted to apply it? The folder <CF-ROOT>/cfusion/lib/updates already contains a file chf20210005.jar.

Hello Chris,

Please do not copy the chf20210004.jar, other than that you may have to apply the custom hot fixes.

Issues related to QoQ and cfreports issue is fixed in CF latest update, there is no need to apply those patches.

Ravi, please improve those notes. The paragraph on this is WAY too brief, given what Chris and you noted.

Thanks for the response and clarification.

Just to be clear are there installation scenarios where the Post Installation step needs to be run, or do the instructions need to be modified to remove that text?

Regards
