Coldfusion9 Licencing

New Here ,
Oct 28, 2009 Oct 28, 2009

Hi,

We currently have a dedicated websever running coldfusion. I am looking to upgrade the licence to the latest version and I have been told as it is a public webserver we cannot use standard coldfusion but have to upgrade to the the enterprise edition. Is this correct?

Thanks

Stuart

To expand on Adam's uncharacteristically terse answer, he is usually such a windbag.

You only need enterprise if you have use of enterprise's features such as the ability to run multiple ColdFusion servers on the same system, higher throughput for gateways, report and pdf generation, a native Oracle database driver or things like that.

Otherwise a standard license is perfectly adequate for many organization's public web site application server needs.

P.S.  Adam we kid because we like you.
