On my production server (coldfusion 2023) the following error is displayed "The web site you are accessing has experienced an unexpected error. Please contact the website administrator. " and under it it shows the error "The following information is meant for the website developer for debugging purposes.
Error Occurred While Processing Request ..."

For security reasons I don't want de server to show the error. So I have disabled the debugging output in coldfusion admin but it still shows the error eb=ven after a restart. What am i missing here?

In addition to what you did, which is also correct, you should see a "Robust Error" checkbox on the relevant CF Administrator page. That's what the checkbox is for.
