Entering license information into CF8 Developers Edition?

Guest
Sep 04, 2008 Sep 04, 2008
I have downloaded and installed CF8 Developers Edition.

I currently own CF 6.1.

I want to buy the upgrade to CF 8 and plug the license information into CF8 Developers Edition so I don't have to reinstall it. However, I can't seem to find anywhere within the CF Admin to accomplish this. I have search on the CF Forum and even contacted an Adobe Coldfusion Sales Rep., but no one can seem to know how to do this. The Adobe CF website indicates that this is possible.

Thanks for the help.

Open the CF Administrator and then click the I icon in the top right corner
of the page to go to the System Information page.

Add your license in the New License filed and click Submit Changes.

At any time, full commercial deployment capabilities for an existing Trial or Developer Edition installation can be activated by simply inserting a valid serial number for ColdFusion 8 Standard or ColdFusion 8 Enterprise without the need to reinstall. So where exactly do you do this?

You may also need the original 6.1 license number so have it handy and
keep it with your upgrade 8 license. If you ever do a clean install of
8 and use your upgrade 8 license, it will ask for the original license
to confirm your eligibility for the upgrade.

On the same page, it refers to an "update file". What is this?
