I have downloaded and trying to install the hotfix update 8 to my CF 2016 environment. The update starts, shuts down CF application server, and then presents an error stating I don't have sufficient privileges to install. I am running under my admin logon and running cmd as admin just like I have installed all hotfixes in the past. I read an old post that related to this issue and they recommended using the non-GUI method by adding the -i console argument to my java command. That got me farther but ended up only partially installing the update which required me to back it out. In order to back out the partial update 8, I had to deinstall update 7 and then reinstall hotfix 7 which worked fine using the GUI method I always use. Therefore, I think it is something to do with the actual jar file itself.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Priyank. This would be very helpful information to put on the "known issues" help page of the hotfix download. I have been struggling with this issue for 3 days thinking it was something I was doing wrong.

I'm also running into this issue on our development server.
I agree with Ditchman6119, it would be great if this was in the known issues. I too spent way to much time troubleshooting this until I saw this thread.
I'm curious how this patch will be rolled out (I'm new to CF Administration); will it be a new Update or will Update 8 be patched? We're wanting to get this installed due to the APSB19-10 bulletin.
Thanks!

Usually, they just release a new cumulative update.

I am having the same issue for ColdFusion 2016 Update 10 running on Windows Server 2012 and a domain admin user. I recently installed Update 7 w/o incident using this same user, but when installing Update 10 we are getting an "Insufficient Privilege" error. I have checked both that the user can start/stop the service as well as the full-control on the CF folder(s). One other note...Update 10 worked fine on Windows Server 2008 using a local admin account.
