Is there any issues with installing CF-9 on Windows Server 2008 R2

Have there been any issues with installing CF-9 on a Windows Server 2008 R2? Also if there is no issue should I install the JAVA 1.8 JDK Windows Server 2008 R2? I was looking thru the Windows Server 2008 R2 control panel and could not find a instance of Java being installed.

I have tested running Java 1.8 with CF-9 on my local workstation Win 7 and see no issues. I need to update the Java so I can process Credit cards with Papal.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You may not need Solr or Verity collections; but, if you do then Java 1.8 will break Solr collections on CF9, and I believe CF10.

I do know that the current download for CF11 comes with Java 1.8 and works just fine.

HTH,

I was able to successfully install CF-9 on Windows 2008 R2. I had to extract the content of the EXE file and update the jre folder with the content of the jre folder of the JAVA jdk1.7.0_79 installation.
