Hi,

I just installed CF MX 7 Developer edition as a local server and am configuring the site using dreamweaver.
I entered http/localhost:8500/ to the root of my site but it's not working.

I also can't access the admin page via localhost:8500.

please help.

thanks

Have you tried usint 127.0.0.1? Don't know why, but my computer at home accepts 127.0.0.1 and not localhost. The one at my office is the opposite.

Are you positive you configured CF to run on it's built in webserver at
port 8500? Have you tried just http://localhost?

If you also have an installation of CFMX on the same machine, then that is using 8500 and CFMX7 is using 8501. At least that's how it is on mine.

I think the problem occurs because I installed the CF on Vista Home Basic which doesn't have IIS.

I thought I could run CF on it's built in webserver but I guess I still need IIS, don't I?

I don't believe so, but I am not sure. Did you check the install logs
to confirm that all went correctly and the install was completed?

hi,
I don't know how windows vista looks like, but you can check if all
services is running. go to control panel then search for Administrative
Tools and click in Services, search for coldfusion, if it's not
initiated, click on it and press the "play" button to initiate it.
