Many of my reports deal with scientific and common names of plants. My clients want the scientific names displayed in italics with the common name in standard font (Cornus coosa, Dogwood). Since these two names relate so closely to one another they would ideally be displayed in the same line with minimal spacing between them.
I never know how long the scientific (could be family, genus, species, variety or just genus) or common names will be so there is the potential for overlap or vast distance between them if I split them into two separate fields on the same horizontal line. My solution to date has been to display these values as separate fields (stacked vertically) or not display the scientific name in italics at all. I am unhappy with both solutions.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you didn't have the font formating requirement, I would just suggest you concanetate the dataum together either in the report builder or the database query.
But I'm afraid I have no idea how you could concetinate the names together but have one of them italic and the other not.
