Need Eclipse Tutorial Recommendation

Explorer ,
Nov 14, 2008 Nov 14, 2008
Could someone point me to a good online tutorial that covers, from a basic, non-geek perspective, using Eclipse instead of Homesite to write CF code? Something along the lines of "Doing ColdFusion With Eclipse for Dummies", or "Getting Eclipse to Act Somewhat Like Homesite". If you don't know a good online tutorial for "civilians", perhaps you can recommend a good book.

Many thanks,
Gwen Harrison

Yes, but they don't tell me (1) where I can find the Europa version (something I found out for myself since my original post yesterday), and (2) which Europa version I need to download that works with CFEclipse, and that is the best version for CF coders.

It does not address it from a "Like Homesite" but does start
you out on CF Eclipse CF8

http://movielibrary.lynda.com/html/modPage.asp?ID=432
for the advanced version.

I didn't know that Lynda Weinman had developed all these CF tutorials. They look promising, but the only problem is, they're not free. Also, they're done in Quicktime. I am so tired of every online video I try to access requiring me to download a different player application. It would really be nice if all web developers would just use the same player application (preferably Flash). Then the end users wouldn't wind up with 40 different player applications installed on their computers, each of which they rarely use (due to the volume of applications).

Thanks for taking time to offer some advice.

Best regards,
Gwen H

No, but $25 for a full month is a small price IMHO.
And I totally agree about QT and all the other players.
