Problems adding datasource in ColdFusion 8.

Hello,

I am trying to add a new datasource to ColdFusion 8 which is installed on Windows Server 2003.  Its not a new install and many other datasources have been added previously.  When I try today, I type in the Data Source Name and select Microsoft SQL Server as the driver type and click add.  Usually this will bring up a new screen where I can type in the details for the data source but now all it does is refresh the screen but not add the datasource.  Another weird thing is that if I click Verify All Connections, the same thing happens.  I can verify each individual connection and edit existing connections without any trouble.  I have tried restarting the ColdFusion services but this has not helped.

Any ideas that can be given would be appreciated.

Thanks!

hello,

I encountered a similar problem once. In this case there as something wrong with the "neo-datasource.xml". As I recall I restored one from a backup, there might have been another step like re-enter the password details for each datasource (can not recall), anyways it sorted the problem. One other piece of advise you may well want to copy of the one you have currently.

Regards, Carl.

Thank you for the reply.  Unfortunately this solution did not work for me.  Does anyone have any other ideas?
