serial number location linux cf8

As I troubleshoot my java problem, I have a spare server and I wish to install CF on it. I know there is a file (thought it was an .xml file) that had the serial in it so I can simply install it on the dev box so the developers can continue to work.

Anybody know what file that is????

I did not think you needed a serial number for development. Just install without a serial number and you are in developer mode. Am I wrong?
